Just curious if anyone here has by chance worked with our Wonderflex thermoplastic material in the making of armor. I helped develop this material years ago from the manufacturing and industrial side of things along with Fosshape, another heat activated product, then intoduced them to Dazian Fabrics www.dazian.com
Heres a finished example of Wonderflex made armor in this link....

If anyone wants more info or swatches to experiment with ....let me know.

Tue, March 18, 2008 - 1:46 PMI do some LARPing on the side and I see wonderflex working more for boffer combat then the SCA, so how does this stuff work?
Apply it to a form then heat it with a heat gun?

Re: Wonderflex Made Armor
Mon, March 24, 2008 - 8:37 AMJust not sure about Wonderflex use for SCA.....as I'm not sure if anyone has actually tried it out for this use. Light weight and flexible so you can contour it to just about any shape. Yes, you activate it with industrial hot air heat gun or even in real hot water (just under boiling). For less flexiblity, but more structural support and impact resistance it can be layered up as well. Sounds like we need someone to experiment a little with it. Would be glad to send swatches.
