Hi-
I need to wear something at Pennsic (i currently have no garb) and I thought I could make a leather.. coverall? (im a man dont know how to call them). I figured it'd look like a skirt, all i had to do was cut out a rectangle and wrap it around myself. ..that failed miserably. How can I make a very simple piece of leg-covering garb? (i want to make it out of leather, I have a bunch of it)

Re: skirt
Thu, March 13, 2008 - 8:49 AMI have to second this notion considering how close I live to Pennsylvania. In the sun, you'll be looking at a potential of 100+ degrees on a day without clouds.
Anyway, my alternative would be to buy some linen of cotton canvass and make some trousers. Depending on your persona, there's plenty of styles you could work with.
Man, what I wouldn't do to be able to say "I have SO much leather!" lol

Re: skirt
Wed, March 12, 2008 - 8:31 AMthere are a few pretty simple "how to" articles i have found online for makeing a simple Hakama, which is the japanese style of pants that kinda looks like a skirt. i made a version of one out of leather that i fight in. I say version because in order to get the freedom of movement i wanted i ended up leaving the verticle seems open. This style might be what you are looking for
